Married Couple Celebrate Dream Wedding With Mickey And Minnie; But Their Guests Get The Short End Of The Stick
For their dream wedding, this couple decided an invite to Mickey and Minnie Mouse was in order.
The character appearance wasn't cheap, though, and inviting the mice to the wedding made guests less impressed when they realized they got the short end of the stick.
A Wife Turns To Reddit
A wife posted on Reddit to ask the community if she and her husband were in the wrong for what happened at her wedding.
She and her husband thought everything went perfectly, but some of her family members had other thoughts.
Their Perfect Wedding
According to the wife, the wedding was perfect; her parents and her husband's parents helped pay for the celebration so the couple would be debt free!
However, just over a month after the wedding, the wife saw a post on Facebook from her aunt.
Disappointed Aunt
Her aunt said she was extremely disappointed with the "whole ordeal," and other guests agreed with her.
This was definitely not the news the wife and husband wanted to hear so soon after the wedding!
The Couple Are Mega Disney Fans
In her Reddit post, the wife gives some background about her and her husband's interests.
Apparently, they are big Disney fans and travel to Disney World as often as they can throughout the year.
The Family's Upset At Their Tacky Choice
Since they loved Disney so much, their marriage had a significant Disney influence as well.
However, the couple decided to do something kind of tacky, and that's why their family members are upset.
The Wedding Budget
In the wedding budget, the couple and parents allotted $5,500 for catering and food for the guests.
However, the couple saw this as an opportunity to use the money for something they wanted.
Food Is Available At The Venue
In the invites, the couple stated that there was food available at the venue for guests to enjoy.
They even went as far as mentioning some of the vendors' names that were located throughout the property. There was a catch, though.
Wait, But Food Is Not Available At The Wedding?
Guests assumed the food listed in the invite would be available at the wedding; the couple even mentioned vending machines.
Too bad they didn't think the couple meant they had to use their own money to purchase the food! They opted for zero catering for their guests.
Time With Mickey And Minnie
So what did this Disney couple get instead of paying for guests' food?
Two 30-minute sessions with Mickey and Minnie Mouse! One during their dance, the other during their photos. Each session cost $2,750!
How Does Reddit Feel?
The Reddit community, who usually love to side with a bride, did not take the couple's side on this one.
They were saying how tacky it was not to feed their guests.
Not Everyone Can Afford Expensive Dinners
Some were ready to defend the couple because they knew how expensive weddings could be.
Sometimes, people only have cake and drinks after the wedding or serve finger foods or sandwiches.
Feed Your Guests!
The old saying is, "don't mess with a bride on her wedding day," so that's probably why none of her family mentioned the issue at the wedding.
But as a married couple, please feed your guests, even if it's something small, especially if you ask them to come to Disney World.
