Mom And Daughter Each Take A Pregnancy Test, And It Hilariously Backfires
Taking a pregnancy test can either be a source of anxiety or excitement, depending on whether you hope to have a baby, but waiting those couple of minutes for the results to show can be agonizing.
Well, the word "pregnant" is definitely not what this mom and daughter expected to read on a pregnancy test during a TikTok video that's gone viral.
The TikTok
Rylee, also known as @rdubbb on TikTok, recently shared the story of a pregnancy test pact she made with her mother. The TikTok has gone viral with over 19 million views and 4 million likes.
She captions the video with, "That one time I took a pregnancy test with my mom and ended up with a new sibling."
The Pregnancy Tests
Rylee and her mom had previously made an agreement where they each took a pregnancy test and would reveal the results in front of each other on camera. In the foreground are the tests which have been tucked back into their wrappers and a bottle of white wine that they hope to enjoy afterward.
Rylee looks at her mom and laughs, "They're gonna be negative." Needless to say, that laughter didn't last long.
Better Put That Bottle Of Wine Away....
Both women then grab their respective pregnancy tests that have been labeled with their initial. They begin to count down from three, and then slowly pull the tests out of their packaging.
Rylee's mother exclaims, "Oh my god! I'm gonna freaking cry!" Confused, Rylee thinks that her mom is pulling a prank, but then looks closely at her mother's test and her reaction speaks volumes.
The Backstory
In a follow-up video, Rylee explains how she and her mother got themselves into this very unexpected situation. She says that several months earlier, Rylee had been having a rough week and was overly emotional. So, she reached out to her mother for support.
"And she has the audacity to accuse me that I'm pregnant," she says. "Although I was late."
Making A Pact
Rylee takes a pregnancy test, and because her mother's period is also late, she takes one too. Positive that both tests will be negative, the women thought it'd be fun to video it and then celebrate with some wine—but the only thing that was positive was one of the tests. Thinking her daughter switched them, she had Rylee take another test.
"And that's on being 24 with my mom's sixth baby due in March."
Coming Full Circle
In response to all the users who asked for an update regarding her mother's pregnancy, Rylee then posted a follow-up TikTok to share the very special news, writing, "Oh do I have a surprise for my TikTok people."
Several months later, Rylee, her mom, and her new baby brother decided to recreate the magic of their original TikTok and we think it's fair to say this is one surprise they'll never forget.
