After Their Dates Didn’t Work Out, This Guy Is Asking For A Refund
When you go out on a date, there is often that conversation about who is going to pay. Maybe he pays, maybe she does, or maybe you split it right down the middle. But usually, there is no expectation that someone is going to pay for you, right? It's one of the important things to discuss if you want to do things right.
A Woman In Wisconsin Has Twitter In A Heated Debate
Alex Colboth of Milwaukee posted a private message she got from a Tinder match she went on a few dates with.
The message, asking for some money back since things didn't work out, surprised her.
She Posted The Message On Twitter With The Caption, "It's The Audacity For Me"
The message isn't rude, by any means. He's to the point and breaks it down for her, but the text still left her confused.
Is this OK? Can someone do this? They never talked about going Dutch on dates before.
People On Twitter Were Torn
There were some people who pointed out that it was actually really gross for him to ask for the money back.
It implies that he had expected to get repaid in other ways, and since he didn't, he wanted his money back. Him paying for the dates was conditional on.
It Makes You Feel Kind Of Dirty
Getting a message like this really could leave someone feeling bad about themselves. Not because they broke up with them, but because all they saw their time together as was a transaction.
She's an actual human being, and it makes you feel like you're not.
You Never Know If Dates Are Going To Pan Out
Someone pointed out that any date you go on is going to be a gamble. You don't know if things are going to work out in advance.
So you can't have conditions and then be mad when things don't work out how you wanted them to.
Some People Suggested He Needed The Money
People in the comments were saying that it might be that CK is hurting for money in a way he wasn't on their dates.
It's not an ideal way to get some money, but maybe he was desperate enough?
Then There Were Those Who Defended Him
There were a lot of people in the comments who were going off about how women want all things to be equal until they don't.
Obviously, these comments entirely miss the point about why Alex was upset with the message.
Luckily, People Were There To Set Them Straight
The point wasn't really the money. It never was. It was that he said nothing about money until after the fact when things didn't work out between them.
What do you think? Do you think it's justified?
