We rounded up some of the creepiest stories that people have shared online to make us all feel a little less comfortable this spooky season.

In the darkest corners of the internet live people's worst horror stories, stories they have lived, stories passed down through their families, and some stories that are still happening.
You can choose to believe the following stories or brush them off as creepy fiction, but just know, someone out there took the time to share their tale as a warning to others.
A Woman Found A Mass Grave
The caption on this photo says, "So my aunt casually tells me today that she once found a ton of skeletons in her garden."
There was not much of a follow-up on the post aside from the photo evidence which made people question whether the woman had encountered a crime scene.
The Grave Was A Plague Pit Discovered In England
The original poster (OP) responded to clarify: "It was a plague pit. In a small village in Norfolk, England." Each of the skeletons had fallen victim to the bubonic plague and were laid to rest in a mass grave.
In a weird twist of the story, the aunt decided to take one of the skulls and rebury the rest. There are new homeowners there now who were told about the gravesite and "had no issues" with it.
Some Horror Stories Start While Camping
Redditor Morenapkinspls shared an eerie account of a camping trip that could have ended much worse.
She starts the post by explaining that the following story is "the scariest thing I've had happen [to me] while camping."
A Mother And Daughter Were Camping At A Secluded Lot
The OP met up with her mom in west Oregon before the two drove to the coast and decided to camp in a free site at the top of a large hill.
The campsite was about a 25-minute drive from the nearest road and they said they were the only campers up there.
They Were Approached By Men Who Left Shortly After
Partway through the day a truck "full of men" drove up the hill and stopped to briefly speak to OP's mother. The men went on their way not long after and OP forgot all about them.
Until the middle of the night.
The Mom And Daughter Woke In The Night To Someone Outside Their Tent
OP recalls waking to her mom "sitting straight up in the tent." The mother let out a small gasp in the dead silence and then placed her hand over her daughter's mouth.
"All of a sudden [we heard] footsteps RIGHT beside the tent. The little flap that covers the zipper was even moving."
The Mom Did Some Quick Thinking To Save Them
Thankfully, the mom was quick thinking and confidently said, "Kenny, grab the gun," which tricked the possible intruders into thinking that there was both a man and a gun inside the tent.
The footsteps left and the mother and daughter made it home safely the next day, but they didn't sleep well.
A Ouija Board Joke Turned Serious
Another post left by ExcrementCranium recalls a time when they were in high school "messing around with an Ouija board one night" with some friends.
They explain they had used the board before and "nothing remarkable ever happened," but that they thought of it more as a joke.
The Teens Were Communicating With The Spirit Of A Child
This night was different. The group of seven teens began using the board, but the game started by misspelling certain words the same way.
"It gave answers that seemed really historically accurate for our town," and ended up revealing that the spirit communicating with them was "a 10-year-old boy who had died on the property in the 1800s."
The Boy Said He Was Buried On The Property In An Unmarked Grave
The boy told the students (through the board) that he was buried on the property in an unmarked grave.
The home was an old farm on the edge of town and even though the teens were a bit freaked, out they "were still skeptical" assuming that one of their friends was trying to scare the rest.
There Was An Eerie Knock On The Window
One teen finally asked if the spirit "could do something to prove he was there with us." The planchette moved to "Yes" and spelled the work "K-n-o-c-k" before becoming still.
The group stared silently at the board until they heard a rap-rap-rap on the window beside them. The sound was loud but there was nobody at the window in the dark. They put the board away and "never touched it again."
A Faint Memory From Childhood Ended Up Being A Creepy Story
Call_Me_Egg shared what they describe as the most "unsettling" experience of their life. They said when they were growing up their bedroom faced the "front of the house/street."
Around age 8 or 9, they awoke one night to their father in their bedroom "calmly but firmly telling me to get up, go into the bathroom, and shut the door."
Their Parents Denied That The Incident Ever Happened
The child fell asleep on the bathroom floor and woke up the next morning confused about the night's events.
They asked their mom who "seemed oblivious and confused" and their father who denied the whole thing. "I was becoming frustrated to the point of tears, but I ultimately let it go."

Things Started To Go Bump In The Night Around 1 A.M.
The strangeness began in the night when the mom awoke at about 1 a.m. and heard a small voice coming out of the boarded-up fireplace saying, "Mom, mom, mommy," in the dark. She never found the source of the voice.
