Woman Uses PowerPoint To Reveal Controversial Career To Her Parents And They’re Totally Cool With It
While there's still a stigma surrounding sex work, many women are choosing to embrace the career for its sex positivity and female empowerment.
One woman wasn't quite sure how to inform her parents of a new career choice, so she decided to get creative by using a PowerPoint presentation, TikTok, and a dash of theatrics.
A Career In Sex Work
Everyone has a choice when it comes to the career they wish to pursue in life, and whether a person does it for the money or because it's their true passion is their decision and theirs alone.
But when it comes to sex work, there's still a taboo, despite the fact that many women find it empowering. One woman made this personal choice and revealed it to her parents, and their reactions are heartwarming.
Meet Sami
Sami, also known as @mildwestsami on TikTok, is getting people talkingānot just for the creative way she introduced her career to her parentsābut also for their supportive reaction. The TikTok has gone viral with nearly 5.5 million views and one million likes.
While her sibling films, Sami sits her mom and dad down to a PowerPoint presentation where she intends to reveal a "secret." She then asks, "Are you guys ready for this?"
"Be A Part Of My Journey"
Her parents enthusiastically respond and her dad even says, "I love secrets!" as Sami begins the presentation.
"Before you start worrying, or getting excited, this secret pertains to my life [and] doesn't affect anyone. The only reason I'm sharing this is because I want the people I love and trust the most to know what's going on in my life, and just be a part of my journey."
Sami's Secret
Sami clicks through to the next slide and says, "What this secret does mean: I'm talented, I'm cool, I'm powerful. What this secret does not mean: I'm pregnant or in danger."
At this point, Sami's mom and dad look as confused as they are intrigued, and with that, Sami announces "drumroll please!" and then announces the big reveal.
"I'm A Stripper!"
"I'm a stripper! As in I pole dance and I love it," Sami announces.
Naturally, any parent would have countless questions at this point, and with that in mind, Sami came prepared with an FAQ portion of the presentation where she addresses any questions and concerns.

Sami then opens the floor for her parents to ask questions, but her mother only has one comment.

Sami explains that there was no particular reason she didn't tell her family about it before, but the PowerPoint presentation was her way of informing her parents and easing any worries.
