Guy Gets Roasted After Sharing The PMS-Themed Apology Present He Gave His Girlfriend

From flowers to handwritten notes, there are many ways to say "I'm sorry." But one man has now gone viral on Twitter for the way he apologized to his girlfriend after a fight and the insinuation that her Aunt Flow had something to do with it.

Twitter had a field day roasting the poor sap online and just in time for Thanksgiving, too. Time to stick a thermometer in him, because I think he's done.

No couple enjoys fighting, and it's a side effect of any relationship. It takes a big person to admit that they were wrong or made a mistake, and from flowers, chocolates, or even love notes, everyone has their own way of apologizing. But for one Twitter user, it didn't end quite the way he'd hoped.

Just a warning to all men: If you and your significant other get into an argument and you're thinking of a genuine way to apologize, don't do what this guy did.

In a now-viral post, Jack Sullivan of England, also known as @SullivansTweets, shared a photo of what he probably thought was a heartfelt apology to his girlfriend. But instead of admiration, Twitter quickly decided that a proper roasting was instead in order, and you'll see why.

Before we dive into Twitter's reaction to this post, a bit of context is important. So what's actually included in Jack's apology? Well, in the photo attached to the tweet, we see a large bouquet of red roses and a box of chocolates. Okay, so good so far.

But then look closer—there is a handwritten note and a box of tampons.

So what was the message Jack wrote for his girlfriend? "The chocolates are cos I love you. The flowers are cos I'm sorry. The Tampax are cos I'm still not sure why I'm apologizing, so I guess you'll need these any day now."

Okay, now let the roasting begin. Jack's tweet went viral and users thought the apologetic gesture was thoughtful before the inclusion of the tampons or mention of his girlfriend's premenstrual cycle—because if a person even hints that a woman is acting unusually/angrily because of her period, they're asking for trouble. In their eyes, Jack is a dead man walking.

"And he was never seen or heard from again. Have a great afterlife," wrote one user.

While one half of Twitter roasted Jack to within an inch of his life, the other half noticed something peculiar, and it had to do with the handwriting on the note. Many eagle-eyed users pointed out that the writing looked too dainty to be a man's and began to doubt the authenticity of the story.

So whether Jack and his girlfriend conspired to go viral or Jack acted alone (and stupidly) and actually gifted his girlfriend this PMS apology present, all we can say is—yikes.
