Man Sends Pre- And Post-Date Questionnaire Because This Is What Romance Has Come To
No one ever said dating was easy, and from wonderful to awful first dates, everyone has a story. Don't you almost wish you could pick and choose exactly what you wanted on a date?
Well, one woman on TikTok got just that when she received pre- and post-date questionnaires from a man she was going on a first date with. It's bringing "attention to detail" to a whole new level.
When Google Meets Dating
When you're planning a date, there are many different options. But figuring out the specifics of what is sure to impress your date can be challenging.
One man combined dating and workplace organization, and his date is sharing the details on TikTok.
The TikTok
Katrina, also known as @maytheeleven on TikTok, has recently gone viral with 8.7 million views for her first-date experience and how her date went above and beyond to make it perfect. Katrina explains that a friend of hers recently asked her out on a date and she said yes. But, what happened next surprised her.
"He sent me a Google form," she says. "Let's go through it together, why don't we?"
Your Date Invite
Katrina is sent a Google Form as a date invitation from her friend/future date named Graham, who "promises a good time with your preferences in [mind]."
The first part of the form included basic info including an RSVP and her name, which Katrina confusedly remarks, "I sure hoped he knew that answer."
The First-Date Options
The next question on the form involves what time Katrina would prefer to start at, and more importantly, what style of date does she prefer, and there is no shortage of options to pick from. They include dinner and a movie or art exhibit, hiking, a beach day, skating, or the option to make her own suggestion.
She ends up choosing the dinner and movie option.
Dinner Preferences
While Katrina had chosen to go see a movie (Dear Evan Hansen), there was the matter of dinner, but don't worry, Graham didn't forget that. From Indian to Thai, a steakhouse, burger joint, or "hilarious vegan options," there was something for everyone.
"I honestly clicked all of the options because I'm not very good at picking food, nor am I that picky," she says.
Levels Of Fancy-Schmanciness
Some dates are fancy and formal events while others are comfy and casual, and Katrina got to pick her level of "fancy-schmanciness." This included rocking a pair of pajamas to casual clothing, or formal attire.
"I just picked everyday casual cause I didn't want it to be too fancy," she says. "He would have shown up in a dress and suit and tie if I had selected it, I'm certain of it."
Submit Answers
This questionnaire isn't quite done yet, and before clicking "submit," there are additional questions that ask Katrina to rank her "excitement level" for the upcoming date and whether or not she can drive. She then decides to include one extra tidbit.
"I included a disclaimer that anything he does and says can and will be used in a future TikTok, and he agreed."
The First Date
While driving to the city Graham lives in, Katrina receives a fancy digital invitation for her upcoming date. The couple then goes on their dinner and a movie date, which Katrina says was "lovely."
But she soon realized that her time filling out questionnaires wasn't quite over yet.
The Exit Interview
In the spirit of "professionalism and giving dating the structure and administrative bureaucracy it has always deserved," Graham sends Katrina another (optional) Google Form questionnaire.
She admits that she forgot to submit it, and walks TikTok users through her answers. The first question asks on a scale of one to five, how awkward/charming was Graham. Considering it was the first date, she gives him a four.
A Range Of Symptoms
Next up on the exit interview was the option to fill out whether Katrina had experienced any of the following symptoms during her date, and it's quite a lengthy list.
These include everything from genuine illness symptoms of nausea and brain fog to more humorous "symptoms" which include feelings of calmness, exhilaration, or a fear of the abyss.
How Would You Describe Your Date?
The final part of Katrina's exit interview includes what words she'd use in a future TikTok or song to describe her first date with Graham.
"Here you go, these are the words," Katrina says. "It was really nice."
A Happy Ending
While many first dates end poorly or awkwardly, Katrina's questionnaire experience and her first date with Graham were "hilarious" in her eyes, and it also comes with a happy ending.
"So anyways, long story short, I'm dating someone now long-distance, and that's fun," she says.
