Fed Up With Being Ghosted, This Woman Created An ‘Exit Interview’ To Figure Out What Went Wrong
One of the potential outcomes of modern dating is ghosting, and anyone who's ever been on the receiving end knows how terrible it feels.
Tired of being ghosted by potential dates, one Nashville woman created an "exit interview" to offer insight into what happened. And now, she's sharing the results on TikTok.
Ghosting
Between "breadcrumbing", "benching", and even "zombie-ing", there are a lot of new dating terms that people nowadays need to learn in order to navigate the dating world.
But perhaps none are as well known as "ghosting", AKA, when you're talking to someone you're romantically interested in and suddenly they fall off the face of the planet, never to be heard from again.
The TikTok
This is Shanna, also known as @riesling4prez on TikTok. Shanna recently went viral for the inventive way she responded after being ghosted by so many guys. The TikTok currently has received over four million views.
The caption on the video reads, "I got tired of getting ghosted, so I created an exit interview to see where things went wrong".
Exit Interviews
Fed up with Nashville's dating scene, Shanna decided to go straight to the source to learn why so many of her potential love matches failed and resulted in being ghosted. The video begins with Shanna looking at the camera and smiling, before changing over to a webpage entitled "Exit Interview".
There, users fill out a questionnaire that pertains to their prior experience with Shanna.
Questions And Answers
So, what kind of questions might Shanna's former flames find on their questionnaire? They include questions such as, "Why'd you ghost Shanna?", " What could Shanna do to stop getting ghosted?", and "How hot is Shanna?".
Other questions include rating her personality, the quality of her jokes, and for survey takers to tell Shanna anything else they think she should know.
Disappearing Acts
Shanna then texts the link to the online survey to a man named Rob who ghosted her previously, along with a GIF of Homer Simpson disappearing into a row of bushes.
So, did anyone actually fill out the survey? One man did, and she shared the results in a follow-up TikTok. But first, she explains her reasoning for why she wanted to do these exit interviews.
A Social Experiment
Shanna explains that she'd always wanted to do an "exit interview" for a failed date for purely comedic reasons, and a recent failed date provided the perfect opportunity to do it. She adds that she had "zero intention" of actually getting useful information from the surveys.
She matched with Rob on Bumble and "vibed so hard" and the pair started texting non-stop and planned to go on a date.
Much Ado About Ghosting
But on the day before their scheduled date, Shanna says Rob all of a sudden stopped texting her. Realizing she'd been ghosted, that's when Shanna had the idea to text him the exit interview and Homer Simpson GIF.
"So the guys in my comment section [are] like, 'I know why he ghosted her.' Like, I know I'm a solid four, but my personality makes up for the rest of it."
And Now The Results
So what kind of results did Shanna get out of her exit interview survey? It's not known who else received the survey — if anyone — but the responses are presumed to belong to Rob.
In response to the question, "Why'd you ghost Shanna?" she received a response that said, "I caught feelings too fast and don't know what feelings are." When asked how hot she is, she was ranked as "Smokin' hot".
Truthful Answers
In the second half of the survey, when asked what Shanna should do in the future to not be ghosted, the response she received was, "Date women because men are dumb."
Finally, when asked, "If you could tell Shanna one thing before she forgets who you are, what would it be?" she received a heartwarming answer. "Keep being a bad**s b***h. Sorry I was a dick."
Grow A Backbone
Ultimately, Shanna's exit interview survey was meant to be comical, but she did have one last thing to say about her social experiment and how she believes men can improve.
"This was purely just to call out the fact that guys these days don't have backbones or balls to be like, 'Hey, you're not it,'" Shanna says. "It's not that hard."
