Ladies, We’ve Apparently Been Shaving Our Legs Wrong For Years
From stepping out onto a sunny beach in a bikini to that feeling of silk bedsheets touching our skin, shaving our legs is something we do so we can look and feel our best. But often, shaving our legs is a tedious process and can leave us with accidental cuts.
One woman on TikTok has shared a faster and simpler method for shavings our legs, so ladies, pay attention and get your razors ready.
The Joys Of Womanhood
So ladies, you probably think that you have this whole "adulting" thing down to a science, right? Diet and exercise, monthly periods, romantic relationships, and basic hygiene, such as shaving our legs.
Well, what if I told you that you are wrong.
Shave It Ain't So
Lauren Henderson, also known as @lalalalauren00 on TikTok, posted a video that has so far garnered over 1.5 million views and 120,000 likes. Her "life hack" has to do with—you guessed it—shaving our legs and how apparently, we've been doing it wrong this whole time.
"It has forever changed me," she says.
How We Were Taught
Whether we were taught by our mothers, sisters, or we figured it out the hard (and painful) way, we all had our own methods for learning how to shave our legs. But for Lauren, this new method is so simple she can't believe people didn't know about it before.
"My momma never taught me this, so I don't even know if she knows about this, so I'm going to have to send her this TikTok after I post it," Lauren says.
The Wrong Way
So the way we're all familiar with is we first lather our legs up with a soap or shaving gel. Then, we start the razor from the bottom of our leg and glide it upwards to the top, before lifting it off our leg entirely and starting the process again on a new section.
"Wrong," Lauren says. "So wrong."
The Right Way
The correct method Lauren says is to lather our legs up, but then afterward, move the razor across our leg in an up-down motion, without lifting it off our leg.
She says that this method only took her "five seconds per leg" to shave, and you can shave your knees without worrying about accidentally cutting them. She adds that the point of moving the razor down the leg helps remove hair buildup.
There You Have It
We've still got a few more months until we can hide our legs underneath jeans and leggings for the duration of winter, so ladies, are you going to stick to your tried and true way of shaving your legs, or will you give Lauren's method a try?
Look how happy Lauren is after discovering this new method! Don't you want to be this happy after shaving your legs? I know I do.
